A Quilty Box Drawing and Other News!

I’m home from Raleigh!

A great time was had by everyone ---I so enjoyed my time with this group of quilters not-too-far from my home town.  Just a bit over 90 minutes drive up the road.

And as I made my way back home all I could think was how nice it was that I didn’t have far to go, that there were no airports to deal with, no lost luggage claims, just drive on home  in my own vehicle and call 2015 DONE!

I unloaded the van, fixed myself some soup for dinner, made a cup of tea, and settled right in with the plan to get some machine quilting done on a very special quilt ((that is still a MYSTERY!)) and sit right down to draw our winner for the November Quilty Box!

I walked into the studio to find THIS:

A new 40’’ monitor!  Whoowhoooo!

I needed this..and with the eye trouble I’ve been having – I think this will be great.  Plus I can really see my Netflix from across the room while I treadle!  Oh, it’s going to be a great December home, I can tell already!

Before we draw, I also wanted to clue you in to something that happened while I was in Peru.  This issue!

The November issue of Craftposium Magazine was released.  If you haven’t heard of Craftposium, it is an online magazine written by the folks at Craftours and they featured me as the guest artist this month!

  4. Hi Bonnie, I really enjoy your blog and reading about your adventures, both travel, and quilty. I was struck today by your off hand reference to lost luggage claims.

For the last couple of years I have been doing some quilt programs. I have been booked as far away from my Georgia home as Arkansas, and Kentucky. So far, I have always driven. I know if I want to expand where I go, I will have to learn to fly with my quilts. I have no qualms about getting in an airplane myself, but live in fear of going to a quilt program, and having my quilts fail to show up, on time, or worse yet, ever. I know you fly all over the place. Has this nightmare ever happened to you? How do you mange that risk? Can you give me any advise in that area? Like you, I make mostly large quilts.

  6. Hi Bonnie ~
    Enjoyed your trip to Peru.
Above you wrote: "Before we draw, I also wanted to clue you in to something that happened while I was in Peru."

I can't find it. Did I miss it on the above page?? I even have my glasses on. :)

My daughter and her girlfriend left California on October 31 (same day as you) for Peru. She came back October 15. I've been keeping up with your posts and hers. I did NOT want to miss anything from your journey.

Daughter LOVED every minute. Wants to go back with less clothes, "I packed too many", Heidi said.

Wondering where your latest post is on Peru??

    Thank you!
    Gloria

Wow. You just got home from teaching a workshop all day long! And then you drove a couple of hours to get back home. And now you're machine quilting into the night. My wish for you is to curl up with a good book and RELAX and NOT WORK for at least one night! :-) I know you love your work. But your pace seems absolutely exhausting. I don't know how you do it.
